Travel Journal

You Will Need

  • Craft Asylum – Meadow Sweet – Paper Pad 12 x 12" (480128)
  • Craft Asylum – Meadow Sweet – Paper Pad 6 x 6" (480289)
  • Craft Asylum – Meadow Sweet – Stamps set (480104)
  • Craft Asylum – Meadow Sweet – Embellishment Set (480111)
  • Cardstock: turquoise, light blue
  • Black Ink Pad
  • White Acrylic Paint
  • Rustic Twine
  • Foam Board Tape
  • Sewing Machine
  • Thread

  • Trim the hexagon patterned paper and the turquoise cardstock to measure 21 x 15 cm. Glue together and sew a frame to the front to make the cover of journal.
  • Trim the patterned papers for the inside pages in different sizes, using six different designs. The last sheet is a strip of patterned paper with two journaling cards. Once trimmed, fold any sheet in half and place on the cover.
  • Place the journal half way into sewing machine, use the fold as a guide line and stitch.
  • Apply a light coat of white acrylic paint onto the bottom of the front cover. Trim a small strip and adhere to the middle of the hexagon pattern.
  • Cut a label and adhere to the right and stamp a butterfly. Print the title, trim to fit within the banner. Glue the title onto another banner of patterned paper.
  • Cut the heart and adhere to the title banner. Take white thread, roll it a bit and place close to the heart. Cut two flowers and adhere in place with foam board tape.
  • Decorate the inside pages with stamps and embellishments.
  • Then wrap twine around the journal to close.
