So, we all know macramé is a big home décor trend, but there could be another macramé technique you didn’t know about. Cue trend alert!
Micro Macrame is a huge trend right now and learning it has its merits. Incorporate some cute little beads, pendants and other decorations and you can make some fab unique jewellery pieces, including earrings, necklaces, bracelets and much more!
How is micro macramé different from regular macramé?
The truth is, all of the knots and techniques are exactly the same, it only differs because of the thickness of the materials being used to create it. The cords used in micro macramé are usually between 0.5mm and 2mm thick which is why it is great for creating smaller pieces like jewellery.
We recommend learning the basics of macramé with a thicker cord before moving onto this cute miniature version as the knots are pretty intricate (don’t worry, we’ve got this one covered in our ‘what is macramé?’ blog post).
Once you’ve mastered these, you’re ready to have a go at creating your own miniature macramé masterpiece.
