Decorating A Plain T Shirt
This entry was posted on July 21, 2016.
Today I am sharing a way to add detail to plain clothes using one Sizzix die and some felt.
It is that time of the year again when we are starting to see Christmas product being launched and for many this is when they start their Christmas crafting, so today I am going to be using one of the new dies from Sizzix. The Sizzix Bigz Build a Bloom, Poinsettia. Although I am not using it as a Christmas project, instead I am using bright, vibrant summer colours to decorate a childs T Shirt.
This is very simple to create and a great way to up-cycle those clothes that look a bit plain!
I have started by die-cutting all of the elements from felt and sewing them together. Don't be put off by the fact that this die needs some stitches, it is so simple and the effects are worth trying a new technique.
Once the flowers have been sewn together I have added a button as the centre embellishment and then added a pin to the back so these can be pinned onto the t shirt and removed when required.
Looking at this project you would never know that these flowers were designed to be poinsettia because by just changing the colours used gives a totally different result.
These could be used in so many different ways. To create bag embellishments, shoe decoration or even decorate a cushion for some home decor.
Have you started your Christmas crafting yet or have you used one of our Christmas dies to create something non Christmas? If so we would love to see what you have been unto. Share your makes with us over on our Facebook page.
Until next week ...
