Hello ...

How are you're Christmas preparations going?

I am trying to get all the small details sorted and this week we put up the decorations, meaning I wanted some little gift boxes to fill with sweets.

Christmas Tree Mini Boxes

I have chosen to make this long rectangular boxes as they are quick, yet effective.  To me it is really important to have some handmade items hanging on the tree.

To make these boxes I have used papers from the 12 x 12" Craft Asylum Home Sweet Home Paper Pad.  These are great for using up those small pieces of paper we all have left.

Here is how to create the box base:

  1. Trim patterned paper 11.5cm x 16.5cm.
  2. Score at 2.5cm, 5cm, 7.5cm and 10cm along the 11.5cm side.
  3. Turn and score at 2.5cm.
  4. Fold all of the score lines, trim away the small rectangle on the base and cut a slit in each square.
  5. Piece together the box using double sided tape.  Punch a hole in the top and thread through the twine.

I have then decorated the boxes using Sizzix Thinlits Die Set Delicate Fall, Sizzix Thinlit Die Proud Deer, Sizzix Thinlits Die Set Decorative Trees.  I have used the Doodlebug Design Inc. Doodle Twine Primary Assortment

These are simple yet easy to create and will be great for the children to give to their class mates, teachers or to hang on the tree full of sweets.  Also great for mini secret santa gifts.

I hope you find this little box useful.  I will see you all next week.
